Greetings, fellow AD&D members! It is my privilege to serve as the 2025-26 President for the Association of Deans and Directors of University Colleges and Undergraduate Studies (AD&D). I hope you found the 38th Annual Meeting in San Antonio engaging and rejuvenating and that you returned home with renewed energy to support and empower students and staff on your home campuses. For the past two decades, I have had the privilege of working at Indiana University Bloomington in Advising and Major Exploration Services (AMES) our University College. As the Director of Retention and Student Success, I am committed to support advisors as they assist students in making a successful transition to IU Bloomington and continue on their path to lifelong learning and success. In AMES we work to empower students to take ownership of their academic journey and write their own educational narrative. Through this work I have learned to believe strongly in the mission and importance of University Colleges and Undergraduate Education units. My journey with AD&D began in 2015 when I attended the 29th Annual Meeting in San Diego. What struck me most was the emphasis on meaningful discussion, which led to lasting connections. AD&D for me has been a place to seek advice, ask questions, and connect with fellow higher education professionals working in Undergraduate Education. Throughout the years I have served on a number of committees, including serving as the Chair the Annual Meeting Planning committee. I have found that service to AD&D has been fulfilling and instrumental in my development as a leader. I encourage each of you to actively engage by joining committees and attending monthly professional development webinars. Additionally, consider sharing your AD&D experiences with others in your network, enabling us to connect with other dedicated professionals who are prepared to actively contribute to our impactful discussions. Together, we will further enhance the vital work of University Colleges and Undergraduate Studies/Education, championing student success and amplifying our impact on campuses across the country. I look forward to seeing you all at the 39th Annual Meeting, April 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina! Thank you for your continued engagement with AD&D. With enthusiasm, Adrienne Felicity Sewell
