Dear AD&D Colleagues, It is both an honor and a privilege to step into the role of President-Elect for the Association of Deans and Directors of University Colleges and Undergraduate Studies (AD&D) for the 2025-2026 program year. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this remarkable organization and to collaborate with all of you in advancing our shared mission of fostering student success and excellence in undergraduate education. Over the coming year, I look forward to supporting our President, engaging with the Executive Committee, and laying the groundwork for the 2026 Annual Meeting. Together, we will build on AD&D’s legacy as a premier resource for professional development, innovation, and connection. My priorities will center on:
For nearly two decades, I have dedicated my career to supporting students and professionals across a diverse range of institutions—from public universities to private colleges—each with unique missions yet united by a commitment to student-centered leadership. In my current role as Director of Advising for University College at Montclair State University, I lead a team dedicated to pioneering initiatives that empower undeclared students through data-informed advising, technology integration, and cross-campus collaboration. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of shared knowledge and collective action—principles at the heart of AD&D. Since joining this organization, I have been inspired by the generosity of spirit and depth of expertise within our community. Whether through candid conversations at Annual Meetings or the exchange of resources that shape campus practices, AD&D has been an invaluable source of growth in my journey. I encourage each of you to lean into these opportunities, whether by contributing to a committee, presenting at a webinar, or inviting a colleague to join our network. As we embark on this year, I am energized by the potential we hold to elevate our work and amplify our impact. Thank you for your trust, partnership, and unwavering dedication to students and the future of higher education. With enthusiasm, Temeshia N. Lemons, Ph.D.
